Welcome! My name is Sheina, also known as the Doodie Baby, a phrase I made up as a kid. Not quite sure what it means, but I do know I ran around saying “Doodie Baby” a lot. I said it so much to the point my cousins started referring to me as “Doodie Baby”. It became my catch phrase during my childhood, and I decided to bring it back as the name of my brand as I create art and music.
Growing up, no class ever resonated with me with the exception of hands-on classes, which gave me the opportunity to use my imagination and be creative. I graduated with both a Finance and Industrial Systems Engineering Degree, yet I can confidently say I only enjoyed about 3 classes out of all 5 years.
I became used to the idea of accepting that I have to do what it takes to succeed regardless of my interest, whether it is school or work. However, about 2 years ago, at a coffee shop, my friend was studying and I was sick of staring at my screen, given I am glued to one throughout the work day. I decided to listen to music, grab a pencil, and start doodling. Next thing I know, two hours passed, and I was shocked by the results.
Doodling and listening to music has made me extremely happy. I have always had a love for music and most of my notebooks, throughout my years of school, have drawings scattered on the pages. I started doodling after work as an alternative to watching tv to decompress. This a hobby that has helped me decrease screen time and makes me truly happy. After work, I look forward to listening to music and doodling as a form of balance. The more I draw, the more addicting it becomes.
As I mentioned, my love for music started as a kid. I have always loved curating playlists for family events, parties, and for friends. In highschool, I began playing with garageband and making mixes, however I stopped this hobby as life became busier. I recently began DJing and learning to mix music live allowing myself to have freedom selecting songs I want to mix in the moment and reading the crowd. I like being able to see the enjoyment in the crowd and testing which songs brings the best energy out of folks.
Now, I’m here to share some of my work and bring these ideas to life through different projects. I hope you enjoy!
